Available Position(s):Prepress Artist
Location: Omaha, NE
Department: Packaging Graphics Division
Type: Full Time
Experience: 3 Years Prepress preferred
The prepress operator will receive various packaging design files and will manage the files from the art for approval stage through print. Most of the files are high end and very complex with multiple spot colors. Quality driven, results oriented, forward thinking, and technologically advanced are key phrases that fit our environment.
Duties to include:
• Preparing electronic art files for print
• Taking existing digital art and making it press ready
• Ensuring all graphic elements are consistent across related files and families
• Trapping and stepping files
• Communicate effectively with managers, coworkers, account managers as well as customers
• Quality checking art files and proofs for accuracy
• Other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills:
• 3-5 years experience in prepress for packaging or related industry is strongly preferred
• Previous experience with offset, flexo or gravure print processes a must
• Strong work ethic and organization skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong file assembly skills
• Basic understanding of color management
• Expert trapping skills for packaging
• The ability to recognize press characteristics as they relate to file preparation for printing
• Familiarity with Fuji, Epson or Kodak Approval proofing devices
• The ability to produce error-free work
• Experience with EskoArtwork workflow solutions/tools
• Candidate must be flexible and team oriented
• Strong interaction with customers as well as all departments and department managers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks and tight deadlines
• Software knowledge including: Adobe CS5, Nexus, Deskpack and AE-10
